Designated Social Care Officer – SEND (DSCO)

Venn Group have been approached by a Local Authority in the North West to recruit a Designated Social Care Officer – SEND (DSCO)

Duties include:

  • Lead in framing and developing social care elements of the SEND strategy across the local authority, in compliance with legislative requirements of the SEND Code of Practice (2015)
  • Lead on developing action plans and processes which support and enable SEND activity to be embedded within social care operations and practice, strengthening links between social care services and the SEND system
  • Work collaboratively with leaders in social care  and service managers to ensure social care meet statutory responsibilities under the Children & Families Act (2014) and Care Act (2014), and to drive forward organisational culture change aligned to SEND Strategy.
  • Operate across SEN and Social Care teams to offer consultancy to practitioners.

The successful candidate must have a degree in Social Work, CQSW/DipSW or equivalent and registration as a social worker with Social Work England
