Here at Cover People, we are specifically looking for confident and compassionate candidates who find the growth and progress of children highly rewarding, who feel they’d make an excellent SEN teaching assistant or behaviour/SEMH mentor.

Your daily responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with SEN needs.
  • Behaviour management – supporting students with challenging behaviour
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Help create a safe and supportive classroom environment that encourages positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
  • Work alongside the teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop effective strategies for students.
  • Provide support and guidance to students, help them to overcome challenges

What the school expects from you:

  • Able to commute to South Manchester daily
  • Previous experience working with adults or young people with SEND needs is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Great time keeping and hardworking nature
  • Desire to work in SEND/SEMH schools
  • Passion and drive to help impact the lives of the children around you
  • Youth Work or Support Work qualifications are desirable
  • Previous experience working with vulnerable children or young people for 3 months+
