Software Architect - Manchester (hybrid remote)

Help unlock the full-potential of a newly created large scale, high availability, low-latency, proprietary platform used by millions across the UK and abroad.

  • Manchester City Centre (2 days a week in office)
  • Flexible start times between 7am and 10am
  • £80k - £90k per annum plus 10% bonus + benefits

THE ROLE:

Reporting to the Head of Architecture and in unison with a community of other Technical Architects, you will be optimising and adding new services to enterprise-grade platform that processes 1000's of transactions and calculations every second and handles large amounts of live incoming data.

Working very closely with the Lead Developers, you will be:

  • Transforming business requirements into solution designs that align with the business strategy.
  • Leading workshops/whiteboard sessions to establish architecture solutions to complex problems.
  • Collaborate with other architects to ensure solutions are compatible with the wider landscape and long-term vision.
  • Work closely with engineering teams providing support, direction, and technical guidance during design and implementation.
  • Contribute to the Architecture Strategic Road Map and overall capability.
  • Ensure architecture work meets standards and aligns with the current business and architecture principles.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience as a Solution, Application, Software or Technical Architect.
  • Background in software development (C# .Net)
  • Knowledge of software design patterns (and anti-patterns).
  • Awareness of architectural patterns.
  • Knowledge of architecture engagement throughout the SDLC.
  • Excellent communicator at all levels.
  • Experience in leading a delivery team in an architecture capacity.

Any experience in designing Cloud and/or Hybrid solutions or knowledge of security architecture and secure design would be beneficial.
