Role: Principal Engineer / Architect (AWS, Serverless)

Salary: circa £80k-£100k + Benefits

You'll be working in a fast-growing AWS community operating as part of a nimble team that are parachuted into a multitude of business to solve complex real-world problems. You'll gain the opportunity to work on everything from contributing to designing applications and products from some of the world's best loved brands, through to helping scale-ups with scaling issues.
This is a chance to work with some of the brightest minds in the AWS eco-system, specifically focusing on AWS and cloud native technologies. There will also be the chance to learn, upskill and attend many AWS industry events.
We're looking for either Technical Leads, Architects (that are hands on) or Principal Engineers that have come from Software Dev backgrounds utilising modern engineering practices. Specifically, TypeScript, AWS, CDK, Lambda, SQS, SNS, Event Bridge and more
Key areas of the role:
- Contributing through hands on (20%-30% of the time), to designing cloud native services and applications
- Ensuring engineering teams are set up for success and leveraging modern engineering best practice
- Providing technical advisory to cross functional teams including Software Engineers, DevOps and Product
- Helping teams to build cloud native services from the ground up, ensuring security and scalability is paramount
- Ensuring engineering best practice is adhered to, and teams are set up for success
- Creating and maintaining Architecture best practice and documentation
- Design and implement CI/CD pipelines and automation
Experience required:
- Proven experience operating at a minimum of a Senior, Tech Lead, Engineering Lead or Architecture level, that has come from a hands-on engineering background (TypeScript)
- Experience in designing practical AWS cloud native architectures (Must have taken from 0-production)
- Background in utilising most AWS Services (Lambda, SQS, SNS, Event Bridge + more)
- Positive, can-do attitude, must be a solution orientated engineer
Role can be based anywhere in the UK
