VIQU have partnered with a leading logistics company known for their focus on innovation and sustainability.

They are seeking a passionate Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join their SRE team. The successful Senior SRE will work to streamline development by improving infrastructure reliability, security, and cost-efficiency. The Senior Site Reliability Engineer will address operational issues like performance and scalability, ensure compliance with Service Level Objectives, and report any technology standard deviations. Additionally, you will help develop the SRE service catalogue, mentor junior team members, and create tools to track and visualise key performance metrics.

Key Responsibilities of the Senior SRE:

  • Streamline development by enhancing infrastructure reliability, security, and cost-efficiency
  • Address operational challenges, including performance and scalability issues
  • Ensure adherence to Service Level Objectives (SLOs)
  • Report any deviations from technology standards
  • Contribute to the development of the SRE service catalogue
  • Mentor and support junior team members
  • Create tools for tracking and visualizing key performance metrics

Key Experience Required of the Senior SRE:

  • Proficient in administering both Linux and Windows Server systems
  • Skilled in leveraging AWS cloud services
  • Experienced in containerization, particularly with Docker
  • Competent in scripting, with Python as a preference but also familiar with Bash, Go, or Rust
  • Knowledgeable in Java development
  • Experienced with infrastructure-as-code tools like Ansible and CloudFormation
  • Familiar with CI/CD pipeline tools, such as Jenkins and Concourse
  • Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and close collaboration with development teams
  • Well-versed in architecture best practices and design patterns
