We are thrilled to present this exciting opportunity for a Software Engineer to join the Portal Team of our client, a cutting-edge organisation that develops advanced management tools for market research projects.

The Role

As a Software Engineer within the Portal Team, you’ll be responsible for developing, improving, and maintaining systems that provide management tools for market research projects. The role involves working with modern technologies such as JavaScript and TypeScript (currently in Angular, with a planned migration to Vue.js) on the frontend, and PHP with Laravel on the backend.

You’ll collaborate closely with other Portal developers, supported by the Platform & Services Team Lead, and will have opportunities to expand your technical expertise across other areas of development. After a settling-in period, you may also join the on-call support team, with additional compensation for out-of-hours availability.

Responsibilities

  • Understanding requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Interpreting software development specifications and design documents.
  • Writing application code and tests that adhere to coding standards.
  • Contributing to architectural design processes.
  • Collaborating with engineering, testing, user experience, and other roles.
  • Ensuring compliance with security, quality, and health & safety policies.
  • Managing operational services with support from the IT & Operations team as needed.

About You

We’re looking for candidates with:

  • Strong PHP knowledge, particularly with the Laravel framework.
  • Strong JavaScript or TypeScript knowledge, with experience in Angular or Vue.js frameworks.
  • A strong understanding of information security, including ISO 27001 standards.
  • Familiarity with coding standards and modern development practices.
  • Experience with AWS and serverless technologies.
  • Proficiency in HTML and CSS.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Developing privacy-centric applications.
  • Optimising SQL queries for complex and large datasets.
  • Building applications designed for high availability.
