What you'll do:As an Software Engineering Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the performance and effectiveness of our client's engineering teams. Your primary focus will be on developing and nurturing a team of engineers working on core products, ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions in a cloud-based AWS environment. You will set high standards for engineering practices while fostering a culture of continuous improvement. This role is hands-off on coding but focuses on people management, coaching, and ensuring adherence to good engineering standards.
* Develop and mentor engineers, ensuring they have the skills, knowledge, and support needed to excel in their roles.* Set and maintain high engineering standards, focusing on clean, maintainable, and scalable code.* Drive the adoption of best practices in software engineering, including DevOps and CI/CD practices.* Facilitate agile processes to maximise team productivity and foster collaboration.* Engage with stakeholders to align engineering outputs with business goals.* Identify opportunities for process improvements and innovations to optimise team performance.* Ensure the engineering team is fully supported in a .NET and AWS cloud environment, leveraging modern tools and techniques.
