GSL Education are currently recruiting people with a passion for supporting young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Do you have the resilience and transferable skillset to handle challenging behaviour and help learners love learning?

The roles we have available in schools are suited to people with experience as Youth Workers, SEN Teaching Assistants or Psychology graduates.

 

GSL Education are working closely with a number of Primary, Secondary and SEN schools in Greater Manchester, many of which have vacancies to start in January.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Support for SEMH Needs: Work closely with students with SEMH challenges 

• Behaviour Management: Handle and de-escalate challenging behaviour with confidence and professionalism, maintaining a calm and supportive environment.

• Curriculum Support: Provide academic assistance in Maths, English, and Science at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.

• Flexible Support: Work across mainstream classrooms, alternative provisions, or in one-to-one settings.

• Collaboration: Liaise with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment.

 

We would like to hear from you if any of the below apply to you?

• Relevant Experience: Previous experience in secondary schools, with a background in SEMH support or Youth Work.

• DBS on Update Service: A valid DBS registered on the update service is essential

• Empathy and Resilience: A caring, patient, and resilient approach to supporting students with SEMH needs.
