About the Role: We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to work across primary schools in South Manchester. The successful candidates will play a key role in supporting the educational and social development of students with diverse learning needs. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are passionate about education and want to make a real difference in the lives of young learners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with varying learning needs, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
- Assist the classroom teacher in delivering tailored lessons and activities that cater to individual student needs.
- Help students develop essential skills in literacy, numeracy, and other curriculum areas.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and supported.
- Support with behaviour management and encourage positive social interactions among students.
- Record and report on student progress and contribute to regular assessments.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure students receive the best possible support.
Essential Criteria:
- Experience working with children, ideally within an educational or support role (either paid or voluntary).
- A passion for working with young learners and a commitment to helping them achieve their potential.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A willingness to undergo relevant training and development opportunities.
- A DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience supporting children with SEND or other specific learning needs.
- Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or similar.
