Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our Partner School in Longsight, Manchester supporting students with additional learning needs. The ideal candidate will work closely with teachers and school staff to provide tailored support, helping students to achieve their full potential in both academic and social aspects of school life. The role will cover all KS2 classes covering specific interventions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with additional learning needs.
- Assist in the planning and delivery of personalised learning activities.
- Support students in developing their confidence, independence, and social skills.
- Work closely with teachers to implement IEPs, EHCPs other support strategies.
- Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to teachers and parents.
- Promote inclusion and ensure that all students feel valued and supported.
- Assist with classroom management and general administrative tasks.
- Provide emotional and behavioural support where required.
Person Specification
Essential:
- Experience working with children or young people in an educational setting.
- A patient, caring, and supportive nature.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions.
- A commitment to promoting inclusion and equality.
- Basic literacy, numeracy, and IT skills.
- A valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check (DBS)
- Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history, and any employment breaks must be explained.
- You must have the legal right to work in the UK.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
Desirable:
- Experience supporting children with special educational needs (SEN).
- Relevant qualifications ( Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification).
