Job Title: Learning Support Assistant (LSA)Location: Tameside, Greater ManchesterPosition: Temporary with the potential to become permanent

Overview:

At Hays Education, we work closely with our extensive network of schools to fill exciting and challenging LSA roles in Tameside and surrounding areas in Greater Manchester. We are seeking a motivated and determined individual to join the provision team of an SEN school in Tameside, providing excellent support and care for students primarily with Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA) and Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).

Responsibilities:

  • Fostering a safe and supportive learning environment for students with a range of special educational and emotional needs
  • Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and parents to support each student's individual development
  • Implementing positive behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with students with SEN and emotional difficulties
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting students with SEN
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team
  • A proactive and caring attitude
