SEN Teaching Assistant Job in Longsight, Greater Manchester, Minimum £95 per day (salary based on experience), Full-time role to start ASAP

Are you a dedicated professional with experience in behaviour management? Do you have a passion for supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! We are seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our primary Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Longsight. This role is both challenging and rewarding, offering the chance to make a significant impact on the lives of young learners.

About the Unit:

The primary PRU in Longsight is a specialised educational setting designed to support students who have been excluded or are at risk of exclusion from mainstream schools. The unit provides a nurturing and structured environment where students can receive tailored support to address their individual needs. Our dedicated team works closely with each student to develop their social, emotional, and academic skills, helping them to reintegrate into mainstream education or transition to other appropriate settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with SEN in a primary setting
  • Assist in managing classroom behaviour and implementing behaviour management strategies
  • Work closely with teachers and other staff to create a supportive learning environment
  • Support students in small groups or on a one-to-one basis

Requirements:

  • Team Teach trained
  • Proven experience in behaviour management
  • Previous experience working with SEN students is highly desirable
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
