The Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to provide one-on-one support to a child with Autism within a welcoming primary school in Oldham. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in facilitating the child's learning and development by providing tailored support to meet their individual needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide personalised support and assistance to the child with Autism, helping them to access the curriculum and engage with learning activities.

Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where the child feels comfortable and empowered to participate.

Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCO to implement and adapt strategies to support the child's specific needs.

Monitor the child's progress and provide feedback to the teaching staff, identifying areas for further development or intervention as necessary.

Promote independence and social skills development through structured activities and positive reinforcement.

Requirements:

Experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly Autism Spectrum Disorder, is highly desirable.

Knowledge of strategies and interventions to support children with Autism in an educational setting.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with both children and adults.

Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the learning and well-being of children with special needs.

Relevant qualifications or training in education, childcare, or special educational needs (desirable but not essential).
