We're seeking a dedicated 1:1 Reception Teaching Assistant to work with a non-verbal child in a primary school in Manchester. This is a rewarding role where you'll play a crucial part in helping a child develop their communication, learning, and confidence in a nurturing environment.



What You'll Be Doing:

  • Providing 1:1 support for a non-verbal child in a Reception class.
  • Supporting the child's learning and social development through play and structured activities.
  • Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external specialists to implement the child's Individual Education Plan (IEP).
  • Ensuring the child feels included and supported in the classroom environment.


Who We're Looking For:

  • Someone with experience working with children with additional needs, particularly in an early years setting.
  • A patient, empathetic, and positive individual with a passion for helping children thrive.
  • Knowledge of SEN strategies, communication tools, or a willingness to learn (e.g., Makaton, PECS).
  • Strong communication skills to work collaboratively with the school team and parents.


Requirements:

  • Experience working in early years or with children with SEN is desirable.
  • An enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check - or willingness to obtain one.
  • A nurturing and adaptable approach to support individual needs.
