Job Description: SEN Teaching Assistant

Key Responsibilities:
- Individual Support: Deliver personalised support to children with SEN, ensuring they are engaged and making progress in their learning. This includes adapting activities to suit individual needs and promoting a positive learning experience.
- Behaviour Management: Employ effective behaviour management strategies to help children navigate their emotions and interactions, fostering a calm and supportive atmosphere.
- Classroom Collaboration: Work closely with the classroom teacher to modify lesson plans and learning materials, ensuring that all children can participate fully in classroom activities.
- Outdoor Supervision: Provide supervision and support during outdoor activities and breaks, ensuring the safety and inclusion of children in all settings.
- Progress Monitoring: Keep accurate records of student progress and behaviour, communicating regularly with the classroom teacher and SENCO to discuss any concerns or achievements.
- Team Collaboration: Engage with fellow teaching assistants and other professionals to create a cohesive support system for students, participating in team meetings and sharing insights.
- Safeguarding Practices: Uphold and promote safeguarding policies, always ensuring the safety and welfare of all children.

Experience, Training, and Qualifications:
- Qualifications: A Teaching Assistant qualification or higher/equivalent is preferred.
- Experience: Proven experience working in a UK school setting or with children of a similar age group, particularly those with SEN.
- Training: Up-to-date safeguarding training issued within the last year is desirable; however, some training will be provided.
Eligibility Requirements:
To be eligible for this role through Prospero Teaching, you must:
- Hold the Right to Work in the UK.
- Possess an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to apply for a new one.
- Provide two professional references related to childcare.
