Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Manchester

Position: Long-term with potential to become permanent

Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our alternative provision team in Manchester. This role involves supporting Key Stage 3 and 4 students on a long-term basis, with the potential for the position to become permanent.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Individualised Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Work effectively with Looked After Children (LAC)
  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies

Requirements:

  • Experience working with KS3/4 students
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • Experience with LAC and SEMH is highly advantageous
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting students with SEN
