Are you a compassionate, patient, and empathetic individual with a passion for supporting students with challenging behaviour? Hays Education are seeking dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to work in specialist SEMH schools or SEN schools with pupils who have Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA) in Greater Manchester.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working with students with SEMH and EBSA in the UK.
  • Strong understanding of de-escalation and calming techniques.
  • A proactive and caring attitude.
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support and understanding for students with SEMH and EBSA.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies to promote positive behaviour.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to support each student's development.
  • Demonstrate patience and understanding in challenging situations, managing behaviours such as aggression, withdrawal, or anxiety.
