Special Needs Teaching Assistant required in Crumpsall, Manchester

We're seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team in Crumpsall, Manchester. As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) to access the curriculum and participate fully in school life. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing one-on-one support to students with SEN, including those with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and other learning challenges
  • Assisting with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies
  • Differentiating learning activities to meet the diverse needs of students
  • Collaborating with classroom teachers and SENCO to assess student progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly
  • Creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment where every student feels valued and respected
  • Building positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure effective communication and partnership working

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience working with children with special educational needs, ideally within a school setting
  • A compassionate and patient approach to supporting students with diverse needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and colleagues
  • The flexibility and adaptability to respond to the individual needs of students
  • A commitment to promoting inclusion and equality in education
