Job Opportunity: Special Needs Teaching Assistant (Full-Time)

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs? We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Special Needs Teaching Assistant to work closely with four pupils at a school that values inclusive education and personalised support.

About the Role:

  • Pupils: You will be supporting four pupils with challenging behaviour, including two non-verbal students. Each child requires tailored assistance, both academically and with behaviour management strategies.

  • Key Responsibilities:

    • Assist pupils in and outside of the classroom, ensuring their emotional and educational needs are met.
    • Support and implement individualised behaviour management plans to help pupils engage and thrive.
    • Provide academic support, aiding in the development of essential skills in a nurturing environment.
    • Work closely with teachers and other support staff to create a positive and structured learning environment.
  • Objective: The school is looking to increase the pupils' timetable from part-time to full-time, meaning you'll be pivotal in helping these children develop both socially and academically.

What We're Looking For:

  • Previous experience working with children with challenging behaviour and special educational needs, particularly those who are non-verbal.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management strategies, and the ability to implement these effectively.
  • A compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach, with a strong commitment to promoting the pupils' well-being and development.
  • The ability to work as part of a collaborative team and communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
