1:1 SEN Mentor Role in Manchester - January 2025

Hays are working with an SEN school in Manchester who are seeking a 1:1 Mentor, who can effectively manage challenging behaviour, to join their provision team in January 2025, supporting students 1:1 or in small groups. As a 1:1 support mentor, you will play a critical role in creating a positive learning environment and providing personalised care to individual students.

Your new company

Hays Education works with a wide range of SEN schools in Manchester and surrounding areas. By working with Hays, you will be working with a dedicated consultant who will work to your requirements to find your next role. You will receive support throughout the whole interview process, from the initial application stage all the way through to starting the role and beyond. The roles will be flexible to suit your needs.

Your new role

You will be working alongside the teacher in the classroom to support students' learning. There will be 1 or 2 students specifically who you will support more closely, accompanying them both in and out of the classroom. You will implement different interventions and strategies to effectively manage challenging student behaviour.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this position, you will have some experience supporting individuals on a 1:1 basis and have excellent behaviour management skills. A passion for supporting children with additional needs and challenging behaviours is essential. You must be a resilient and empathetic individual with a flexible and adaptable approach to work.
