Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join our educational team.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining a positive learning environment in the absence of regular teachers. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about education and have experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs.

The Cover Supervisor will be responsible for supervising classes, ensuring that students remain engaged and focused on their learning activities.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage classroom activities in the absence of the regular teacher.
  • Ensure that students follow school rules and maintain a respectful atmosphere.
  • Assist students with their learning tasks, providing support as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with students to foster a positive learning environment.
  • Implement lesson plans provided by the absent teacher, adapting them as necessary to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Monitor student behaviour and provide guidance to promote positive interactions among peers.
  • Support students with special educational needs, including those on the autism spectrum, ensuring they receive appropriate assistance.
  • Engage in mentoring and tutoring activities to help students achieve their academic goals

Experience

  • Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is essential.
  • A background in special education or working with individuals on the autism spectrum is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary for effective interaction with students and staff.
  • Experience in creative writing or educational mentoring will be considered an asset.
