We are seeking a dedicated SEND Teacher to join our team in a further education establishment based in Wythenshawe, focusing on delivering high-quality education and supporting learners across various centres. This role is ideal for someone passionate about making a difference in challenging environments and capable of managing diverse learner needs effectively.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Conduct initial and ongoing assessments in line with company policy to effectively place learners on appropriate learning programmes.
  • Personalise learning experiences based on assessment outcomes and available information, catering to individual needs.
  • Adopt inclusive teaching strategies to support and challenge all learners, including those with SEND, challenging behaviours, and other personal, social, or medical needs.
  • Manage learner behaviour and classroom climate to ensure a secure and positive learning environment.
  • Assess learners’ work according to company policy, providing diagnostic and personalised feedback to promote continuous progress towards examinations.
  • Track and monitor the progress of individuals and groups to ensure rapid and sustained improvement from previous achievements.
  • Identify learners at risk of underachievement and collaborate with colleagues for prompt and effective intervention.
  • Contribute to the development of the Maths and English team by collaborating on resources, schemes of work, and teaching methods.
  • Deliver high-quality teaching across various centres and to groups of differing sizes and profiles as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven teaching experience.
  • Proven ability in planning, teaching, and assessing for progress.
  • Relevant subject-specific and teaching qualifications.
  • Ability to engage and motivate disengaged learners with inclusive and engaging lesson plans.
  • Excellent collaboration skills with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Recent experience in successfully teaching 'hard to reach’ learners.
  • Flexibility to travel and work across multiple sites as needed to meet business requirements.
