This is an exciting opportunity to support the Sport and Uniformed Protective Services Department as a Sport and Enrichment Instructor; with a focus on enhancing the study programmes of our learners with high quality sport and physical activity opportunities. The successful candidate will have a strong sport and physical activity background, with experience of planning, organising and leading activities.

The role will also include enhancing community access to sport and physical activity via bookings from local clubs and organisations. We would like to hear from you if you have excellent customer service skills and experience of using IT based booking and administration resources. Those applying should have a good level of numeracy, literacy and IT skills, and should meet at least the desirable elements of the Job Description and Person Specification.

Key Purpose

  • To plan, organise, lead and oversee high quality sport and physical activity enrichment opportunities for students
  • To support the functions of the colleges partnerships with the Manchester United Foundation and the Salford Red Devils Foundation
  • To operate the colleges online booking system for commercial use of sports facilities; providing excellent customer service.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Plan a range of high-quality and inclusive sport, physical activity and recreation enrichment activities for students at the college, based on current needs and information gathered from students.
  • Organise, facilitate and lead on a range of high quality and inclusive sport, physical activity and recreation enrichment activities for students at the college.
  • Assist and facilitate staff and students during practical sessions; setting out and taking down equipment where appropriate.
  • Manage and maintain college resources and facilities relating to sport and physical activity; recording and reporting any issues, updating equipment and completing a periodical stock take.
  • Oversee the ordering of goods and materials where authorised by the Line Manager within the Departmental budget.
  • Encourage all users and external customers to work safely in areas relevant to sport and physical activity and the wider college premises, ensuring Health and Safety Regulations are adhered to, and maintain the security of facilities where appropriate.
  • Support the functions of the College Group partners; Manchester United Foundation and Salford Red Devils Foundation in facilitating and leading on additional training opportunities for student athletes.
  • Support the transport of students to external competitive fixtures and external enrichment opportunities.
  • Assist staff in the preparation for college open events and other marketing events.
  • Monitor and maintain bookings on IT Based Booking System; communicating with external customers and internal partners in relation to facility availability and conditions of booking.
  • Liaising with Customers to ensure a quality experience service is maintained.
  • To carry out all other duties within the purpose of the post as may be reasonably required by the Line Manager.
This is term time only 36 hours per week position.
