Description

  • Leading the U.K. division of a retail giant to implement and drive merchandise planning.
  • Track sales and production performance across all channels, focusing on sales growth, gross profit margins, and inventory turnover ratio.
  • Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for management that include sell-through rates, product lifecycle performance, and sales per square foot for retail stores.
  • Analyse competitor products and pricing strategies to inform product development, focusing on understanding market gaps in terms of product make and design.
  • Track market share growth, competitor price variations, and consumer demand shifts to make data-driven recommendations.
  • Plan, implement, and manage merchandise for multiple channels-e-commerce, retail, B2B2C, and export.
  • Track the sales conversion rate per channel, sell-through by channel, and gross margin return on investment (GMROI).
  • Monitor channel-specific markdown performance to determine the effectiveness of promotions and/ pricing changes.
  • Use forecast accuracy rates to measure the effectiveness of budgeting.
  • Prepare and manage budgets for each product line or collection.
  • Monitor cost of goods sold (COGS), gross margins, and return on sales (ROS) to ensure profitability while maintaining quality.
  • Monitor stock movement regularly and decide on markdowns, promotions, price changes, and clearouts.
  • Track the percentage of sales from promotions and markdowns to assess their impact on overall revenue.
  • Analyse days of inventory on hand (DOH) to ensure optimal stock levels.
  • Report into Directors and influence key strategic decisions with regards to merchandise planning.

Profile

  • A solid merchandise management background in premium retail.
  • Highly organised and able to cope with a high-pressure but exciting environment.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret large volumes of complex sales data.
  • Highly numerate and commercially astute with the ability to spot gaps and opportunities for improvement.
  • Exposure to international market trends with a thorough understanding of the luxury retail sector.
  • A highly proactive and confident approach to identifying opportunities and gaps for business growth and improvement.
  • Ability to manage their workload autonomously as well as lead and develop a strategy to build out the merchandising function.
