Job Description:Â We are seeking an experienced and motivated Customs Manager to join our client's growing team in Manchester. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all customs-related activities, ensuring compliance with UK and EU regulations, and managing / supporting a team of customs specialists.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the customs declaration process for UK and EU imports and exports
- Ensure compliance with all relevant customs regulations and legislation
- Develop and implement customs policies and procedures
- Manage and train a team of customs specialists
- Liaise with customs authorities and other regulatory bodies
- Provide expert advice on customs matters to internal and external stakeholders
- Monitor and analyse changes in customs regulations and ensure the business adapts accordingly
- Handle any customs-related issues or disputes that may arise
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a customs management role, preferably within the UK and EU
- In-depth knowledge of UK and EU customs regulations and procedures
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in customs software and systems
