Reed are currently working in partnership with a dynamic and growing business specialising in UK and EU customs declarations. Our client's mission is to provide seamless and efficient customs solutions for their own clients, ensuring compliance and smooth operations across borders. 

Job Description: We are seeking an experienced and motivated Customs Manager to join our client's growing team in Manchester. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all customs-related activities, ensuring compliance with UK and EU regulations, and managing / supporting a team of customs specialists.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the customs declaration process for UK and EU imports and exports
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant customs regulations and legislation
  • Develop and implement customs policies and procedures
  • Manage and train a team of customs specialists
  • Liaise with customs authorities and other regulatory bodies
  • Provide expert advice on customs matters to internal and external stakeholders
  • Monitor and analyse changes in customs regulations and ensure the business adapts accordingly
  • Handle any customs-related issues or disputes that may arise

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a customs management role, preferably within the UK and EU
  • In-depth knowledge of UK and EU customs regulations and procedures
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in customs software and systems
