Operational Supplier Manager

Manchester (Hybrid working model, 2 days a week office based, 3 days remote)

We’re looking for an Operational Supplier Manager who will

  • Be responsible for supplier performance (including budget, risk management and reporting) and will build senior relationships with suppliers, representing DCC’s interest and driving improvement.
  • Drive supplier performance management and performance rectification for suppliers, reporting to the Head of Supplier Delivery
  • Have a deep understanding of the contracts and DCC’s overall commercial position in relation to licence obligations
  • Support other parts of the business in their engagements with suppliers and ensure continual focus on customer outcomes
  • Be an escalation point for any performance and service-related risks and issues
  • Work with other parts of DCC to understand end customer experience of service delivery and use this in dialogue with suppliers to drive good supplier performance
  • Work seamlessly with Commercial and other parts of DCC to deliver end-end contract management

What will you be doing?

  • Manage suppliers throughout their lifecycle: Onboarding, Operational Management, and Offboarding
  • Be responsible for ensuring that supplier performance meets performance obligations and service level agreements.
  • Be responsible for accuracy of forecasted 'run’ budget with suppliers
  • Maintain deep knowledge of the supplier’s business performance against contract and licence condition
  • Operate as a supplier expert within DCC
  • Identify and deliver performance improvement plans and rectification of performance issues
  • Perform audit and assurance activities to regularly review and ensure adherence to controls, processes, documentation, and procedures.
  • Act as an escalation point to resolve disputes and is a main point of contact for suppliers
  • Support the Head of Supplier Delivery in managing cross-supplier dependencies

What are we looking for?

An individual with the following experience, skills and qualifications

  • Experience and excellent track record of delivering in a service-based contract environment (essential) and ideally within a Telco/Energy or other relevant sector (desirable)
  • Managing suppliers in a regulated environment (suppliers)
  • Experience of managing supplier budgets
  • Experience of working in a regulated environment (essential)
  • Good understanding of supplier management procedures
  • Experience in effective stakeholder management and issue resolution to drive operational benefits
  • Proven experience in building relationships and leveraging these to drive continuous improvement and ongoing value for money
