Supply Chain Manager

We are seeking a Supply Chain Manager to oversee our supply chain, purchasing, and inventory control activities. This role involves managing suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and quality, maximising revenue and profitability, and maintaining compliance with health and safety/regulatory requirements.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Develop and implement inventory management strategies to control costs, generate savings, and maximise working capital.
  • Optimise purchasing, materials storage, and inventory via the ERP system.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiating best prices, terms, and lead-times.
  • Plan and develop strategies for supply chain initiatives and budget requirements.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement within the Supply Chain to deliver productivity and efficiency improvements.
  • Manage and maintain the company’s inventory and non-inventory items, including stock profiles and re-order levels.
  • Conduct perpetual inventory stock counting/inventory accuracy checks to meet targets and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure that Supply Chain staff are appropriately trained and developed.
  • Manage stores/warehouses to meet the needs of business units and comply with Health and Safety/regulatory requirements.
  • Manage incoming products and associated documents according to company procedures.
  • Provide routine management information and Key Performance Indicators on inventory and supplier performance.
  • Assist Finance with HMRC matters and the import/export of parts and materials.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience in Supply Chain/Purchasing/Stores Management.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to drive improvements.
  • Experience in vendor management and supply performance monitoring.
  • Commercial/product costing awareness.
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members.
  • Good organisational, time management, and project management skills.
  • Proficient in ERP/inventory control systems and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Knowledge of Lean and experience implementing Lean tools in a Stores/Manufacturing/Workshops environment.
  • Technical awareness to understand product specifications and influence supply chain planning.
  • Flexibility for visits/supplier audits and experienced in logistics/transport requirements.
