Supply Chain Manager (Materials & Stock)

Location: Greater Manchester
Industry: Food Manufacturing
Salary: £57,000 - £59,000 + Bonus & Healthcare

About the Company:

Join a dynamic food manufacturing business currently undergoing a period of significant transformation and growth. With recent investments in the site, a fresh and talented team, and an expanding customer base, this company is poised for further success.

Role Overview:

As the Supply Chain Manager, you will take on a unique and pivotal role, focusing on material supply and stock control. Unlike traditional supply chain roles, this position merges these two critical functions under the leadership of an experienced Supply Chain Director. Your mission will be to unify these departments, foster teamwork, and ensure the consistent delivery of products on time and in full.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Manage and develop a team of 4-8 individuals across the materials and stock departments. Your team includes several new members who will benefit from your guidance and expertise.
  • Operational Oversight: Oversee a complex stock and material operation, part of a business that produces hundreds of finished products, each requiring a diverse range of materials. Your role will involve taking a strategic, "helicopter view" to ensure a balanced, high-performing environment.
  • Inventory Management: Handle both on-site and off-site storage, including working closely with third-party logistics (3PL) providers to optimize operations.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience: You should have a solid background as a Supply Chain Manager, Materials & Stock Manager, or Planning Manager, specifically within a short shelf life, multi-component food manufacturing environment.
  • Skills: Strong leadership abilities, with a knack for nurturing and developing teams. Experience managing complex supply chains and working with 3PL providers is highly desirable.

Why Apply?

This role offers the chance to be at the forefront of a company's growth journey, where your skills and experience will directly impact their success.
