We are working with a local authority in Manchester to find an Electrical Compliance and Repair Surveyor on a permanent basis. Annual Salary: £40,476 - £44,711Location: ManchesterJob Type: Full-Time, PermanentAdditional Payments: Casual Car User AllowanceJoin our dedicated team in Housing Services at Manchester City Council, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and compliance of electrical and lifting equipment within council homes and properties. This position is ideal for a professional with a strong background in lifting equipment and electrical safety, looking to make a significant impact in public service.Day-to-Day of the Role:Oversee the delivery of approximately £1m annual compliance and repairs service, focusing on electrical safety and lifting equipment.Manage electrical and lifting equipment risk management services effectively.Engage with residents to enhance their understanding of electrical compliance and safety measures.Contribute to the Building Safety leadership function by delivering a comprehensive programme of electrical safety compliance, ensuring adherence to all statutory, regulatory, and best practice requirements.Required Skills & Qualifications:A relevant qualification in Lifting Equipment and Electrical Safety.Proven track record in a surveying role within housing, particularly in a multi-site, complex environment.Strong knowledge of public services, structural, legislative, and policy contexts, especially in local government.Demonstrated ability to achieve and sustain compliance in lifting equipment and electrical safety, including post-Grenfell regulations.Experience in conducting inspections related to lifting equipment and electrical safety.Excellent analytical skills and the ability to manage complex information and make informed decisions.Must hold a full valid driving licence and have access to a personal vehicle for business use, as this role is designated as a Casual Car User.What You Can Expect from Us:A 35-hour working week with flexibility.Up to 30 days paid leave plus bank holidays, with the option to purchase up to an additional 10 days.Flexitime scheme and a pragmatic approach to home-working.Up to 3 days paid volunteering leave.Membership in the Local Government Pension Scheme with generous employer contributions.Enhanced family leave options and a comprehensive package of health and well-being benefits.Opportunities for career development and continuous learning.A diverse and inclusive work environment that reflects our community.
