About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Fire Protection Estimator/Surveyor to join our dynamic team in Manchester. This role involves conducting site surveys, preparing accurate cost estimates, and ensuring compliance with fire safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of fire protection systems and excellent analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site surveys to assess fire protection requirements.

  • Prepare and review cost estimates for fire protection systems, including sprinklers, alarms, and suppression systems.

  • Analyse drawings, specifications, and project requirements.

  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure accurate pricing and scope definition.

  • Provide technical advice and solutions tailored to client needs.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant fire safety regulations and industry standards.

  • Prepare and present detailed proposals and quotations.

  • Assist in tender preparation and contract negotiation.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of fire protection technologies and market trends.

  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure cost-effective and compliant installations.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in fire protection estimation, surveying, or a related field.

  • Strong understanding of fire protection systems (sprinklers, alarms, suppression, etc.).

  • Knowledge of relevant fire safety legislation and British Standards.

  • Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.

  • Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Full UK driving licence (preferred but not essential).
