The Company

My client is one of the largest and fastest-growing survey companies, with offices throughout the UK they deliver for all sizes of customers within the construction and civil engineering sectors. They offer a full range of innovative topographical, underground utility, measured building, hydrographic, rail, engineering and geographic survey solutions across a broad range of sectors in the UK and abroad.

The Survey Manager Role

Theycurrently looking for Survey Manager or Geospatial Manager for their North West. This role has the potential to become the Operations Manager for this region.

Initially your focus will be on a landmark project they have won in the South Manchester area, managing a team of up to 5 Surveyors, you will also be expected to have a hands on approach to carrying out the day to day duties around the surveying and capturing of information.

They are open to discussions on salaries and packages depending on your current earnings and expectations. The role will come with hybrid opportunities but there will be times, particularly in the early stage of the project, you will be expected to be on the project in Manchester.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage projects on site and lead survey capture and control works.
  • Delivering instructions on a broad range of surveys and disciplines to survey teams
  • Utilise modern survey methods and survey devices such as Total Stations, GNSS, UAV, HDS, imaging tools etc.
  • Engaging with clients to understand their requirements and ensure instructions are delivered on time and to the highest standard
  • Working as part of a team to support junior and senior colleagues

The Successful Survey Manager

  • A minimum of 5 years of survey experience (Surveying, Geomatics or Engineering)
  • Relevant Surveying Degree / Qualification
  • Strong knowledge of the UK construction industry
  • Ability to communicate technical information effectively.
  • Understand scopes of work and project requirements.
  • Experience working in infrastructure and construction.
  • Experience in working to high safety standards.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Strong technical knowledge
  • An ambition to learn and develop
  • Proactive and confident in their abilities
  • Flexibility to travel nationwide as required by our clients
  • Full clean UK driving License.
