The Company:

We are looking for a creative Licensed Character Designer, to join a busy and dynamic head office team in the Retail Sector. Working in a fast-paced environment, You will be involved in new exciting internal projects, new product categories across home textiles and global customer briefs. This role is predominantly focused on licensed design however there will be opportunities to support on our Private Label side of the business. This is a full-time hybrid position joining our small and friendly team. Hybrid available

The Role:

  • To create exciting and high-quality designs across home textiles licensed product, including print ready files.
  • Liaise with Licensors on internal and external projects ensuring designs adhere to brand guidelines and production capabilities.
  • Identify and create mood boards based on key trends and themes tailored to character and market.
  • Create strong design decks for core ranges, internal projects and customer specific briefs.
  • Collaborate with the wider team on new developments and contribute innovative ideas.
  • Conduct regular market research and attending trade shows.
  • Liaise with product development and suppliers on production samples.

Skills Required:

  • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in licenced design and a passion for home textiles.
  • Excellent CAD skills in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • AVA experience would be an advantage.
  • Confidence in presenting design concepts to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Great attention to detail and excellent eye for colour.
  • Ability to work individually on projects and as part of a team.
  • Must have great organisation skills and ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Home textiles knowledge would be an advantage.
