A UK DRIVING LICENSE HELD FOR A MINIMUM OF 2 YEARS IS REQUIRED

Ganymede Solutions are working with one of the largest UK Train Operating Companies (currently operating 464 stations, the most of any TOC in the UK), who are seeking to recruit a Mobile Train Cleaner to join the reactive graffiti cleaning team. Ganymede Solutions are a stock market recognised recruitment agency, specialising in the transportation, infrastructure, construction and engineering sectors on both permanent and contract basis.

The company covers the whole of the North, which includes the Northeast & West of England, Yorkshire and the Humber, as well as the occasional part of the East Midlands and Staffordshire. As a result of this, they have a large fleet of trains – 333 to be precise, so it's safe to say you will be active & busy with your role!

The Role:

The Mobile Train Cleaner role will cover all aspects of graffiti cleaning on the interior and exterior of the trains. This is a reactive role, meaning that you will be responding to graffiti reports on the day, across multiple depots, outstations and train stations in the North.

As a Mobile Train Cleaner, you will be based out of either Manchester Picadilly Gardens, Newton Heath Depot (Manchester) or Hill House (Huddersfield).

The main locations you will be covering are:

  • Newton Heath Depot (Manchester)
  • Manchester Picadilly Gardens
  • Allerton Depot (Liverpool)
  • Heaton Depot (Newcastle)
  • Neville Hill Depot (Leeds)
  • Hull Botanical Gardens Depot
  • Hill House (Huddersfield

Although, majority of the role will be carrying out graffiti cleaning, you will also be required to carry out deep and full cleans on occasion when requested. Deep and full cleans typically consist of:

  • Wiping down surfaces
  • Sanitizing touch points
  • Hoovering
  • Mopping
  • Dusting
  • Cleaning & restocking the toilets

Hours wise, you will be working Monday – Thursday from 07:00 – 17:00. There is overtime available on Fridays.

Pay Rate & Benefits:

The pay rate for the Mobile Train Cleaner position will be at £12.60 per hour on an initial 6-month basis.

Requirements:

  • Be able to pass a Drugs & Alcohol test
  • Be able to pass a full railway medical – this will include, sight, hearing, colourisation, heart, lungs, brain, etc
  • Be able to attend a week of training at Neville Hill Depot, starting on 26/05/2025
  • Provide your Right to Work documents before deployment
  • Happy to help mentality/attitude
  • A decent fitness is needed as the site is very large and will involve a lot of walking, so please keep this in mind when applying
