Assistant Transport Planner- Manchester

Location: Manchester

Salary: 30,000 - 39,000 basic + Package

Role and responsibilities:

The Resolute Group are working in partnership with a client operating across the Transportation sector. Working within a client organisation, based in the Quality Assurance team supporting the Transportation modelling team. Analysing projects to ensure they gain the funding and ultimately gain planning permission and sign-off.

This position will involve providing data, analytics and assurance services and utilising transport models in several software packages to provide strategic analysis of road and rail interventions. Selecting relevant information and applying specialist techniques in the development of business cases, transport strategies and policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and operate transport models to provide strategic analysis of road and rail interventions.
  • Conduct quality assurance on schemes, ensuring they meet the necessary standards for funding and planning approval.
  • Work closely with transport planning and modelling teams, contributing to business cases, transport strategies, and policies.
  • Apply specialist modelling techniques and Python programming for transport analytics.
  • Engage with CUBE, VISUM, SATURN, or EMME software for modelling and analysis.

Key Requirements:

  • Background in transport modelling, demand forecasting, or economic appraisal.
  • Working knowledge of transport planning guidance and best practices.
