ROLE PURPOSE

Our clients are driven training provider based in the Greater Manchester area are seeking a dedicated Trainer/Assessor to deliver Apprenticeships and Adult Skills programmes (Advanced Learning Loans). This role will involve delivering high-quality training and assessment to a caseload of aspiring Hairdressing learners from their Manchester city centre academy, 5 days a week.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Take full responsibility for an assigned caseload of learners, providing high-quality training, coaching, mentoring, and assessment to help them achieve their apprenticeship or qualification in a timely manner.

Act as the primary point of contact for both learners and employers, fostering positive relationships and providing regular feedback on learner progress.

Conduct initial assessments to determine learner readiness for the apprenticeship programme and create an individual learning plan tailored to their progression.

Design and deliver engaging, forward-thinking training programmes that develop the knowledge, skills, and behaviours (KSB) learners need to succeed. This will include mapping out training plans that prepare learners for Gateway and End Point Assessment (EPA).

Collaborate with employers to establish relevant activities and tasks that support the development of KSB both on and off the job.

Regularly review learners’ development in collaboration with their employers, ensuring progress aligns with their individual learning plans.

Adhere to awarding body standards, promote the training provider's values, and ensure best practices are applied at all times.

Conduct quarterly in-salon reviews with learners and their employers to track progress and offer guidance.

Commit to safeguarding the wellbeing of learners and comply with all policies regarding Equality, Diversity, Health & Safety, and Risk Management.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Hairdressing Level 2 & 3
  • Barbering Level 2 & 3 (Desirable)
  • Relevant assessing qualification (A1, D32/D33, TAQA)
  • Teaching qualification (PTLLS, CTLLS, DTLLS, PGCE, CertEd)
  • Level 2 qualifications in English and maths (or a willingness to work towards)
