Welding EngineerLocation: Greater Manchester Salary: Up to £65,000 Permanent

Working Hours: Monday - Thursday: 07:45 - 16:45 and Friday: 07:30 - 12:00 ???????

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the design and development of welding procedure specifications (WPS).
  • Perform technical reviews of nuclear welding-related contract documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory, legal, and approval body requirements.
  • Act as a welding engineering expert for design and manufacturing processes.
  • Review and accept nuclear welding documentation (WPS, WPQRs, etc.).
  • Design and develop welding procedures.
  • Ensure safe working practices and support the quality & welding inspection team.
  • Assess the suitability of subcontractors for welding and cutting activities.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Engineering qualification (HNC, BEng, MSc) and an International Welding Engineering Diploma (IWE) or working towards it.
  • Lead auditor qualification is desirable but not essential.
  • Extensive knowledge of welding standards (e.g., BS EN ISO 14731, ISO 3834, BS EN ISO 15614, BS EN ISO 9606).
  • Experience in nuclear manufacturing processes and client procedures.
  • Strong ability to read engineering drawings and understand welding specifications.
