RoleClimate17 are working exclusively with a global renewable energy business who carry out operations and maintenance services to large-scale solar farms across the UK.They are actively searching for a Regional Manager to oversee the successful day-to-day operations on their PV portfolio in North Lincolnshire, Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, Yorkshire and Derbyshire.Requirements
  • Responsible for the daily operational and HR line management of the site-based technical staff including annual appraisals, all disciplinary and absence-based protocols for the field technicians with the region.
  • Deliver effective HSE leadership at all times in order to enhance the organisation’s commitment to safety performance.
  • Coach and guide Lead Technicians, Junior and Site Technicians with thin the region.
  • Support the O&M Coordinator in compiling the annual PPM schedule.
  • Understand the company’s detailed obligations in respect of any ongoing or ad hoc works on sites in the region.  Ensure, monitor and audit compliance with those obligations
  • Take regional responsibility for plant performance, work quality and site appearance (both electrical, landscaping and other) across sites within the area.
  • Support the O&M Coordinator to update and schedule the works using FRM.
  • Performing PPM (inc. HV) to ensure the successful ongoing operation of the plants.
  • Ensure that all reporting is submitted in a professional, complete and timely manner
  • Assist in the onboarding of new sites, including leading side due diligence and onboarding visits, filling in reports and / or forms, and creating onboarding documentation.
  • Be aware of and support with spare parts / inventory matters on the sites and ensure that spare parts stock records are always up to date.
  • Ensure teams have the correct PPE equipment, vehicles and training
  • Support in the recruitment of new field staff
  • Assist Project Managers and Procurement Manager with quoting for works.
  • Supporting operational responsibility by ensuring and improving in-team profit margins
  • Carry out new joiner inductions; successful onboarding and coaching of new field staff.
Requirements
  • C&G / NVQ Level 3 Electrician
  • BS 7671 - 18th Edition.
  • C&G 2391 inspection & testing or AM2 (preferred). 
  • HV Trained (AP15/OP40) and provide evidence via personal switching log book.
  • 3+ years’ experience working on utility scale solar farms in an O&M / Project role.
  • Key inverter manufacturer trained (SMA, ABB, Power Electronics etc.)
  • IOSH Managing Safely.
  • Line Management experience preferred but not essential.
  • Full UK driver’s license
