Lettings Assistant

Here at NCHA we have a fantastic opportunity for the right person to join our friendly and supportive team within Homes and Wellbeing as a Lettings Assistant.

We are recruiting for 3 positions:

  • 1 Full time fixed term 12 month cover for maternity based at Edwinstowe
  • 1 17.5 hours per week permanent Wed to Friday based at our new office in Clifton
  • 1 Full time fixed term 12 month temporary post based at our new office in Clifton

The Letting team are responsible for allocations and lettings of our homes across 32 Local Authority areas as well as our garages and allotments. We re-let our homes through choice-based lettings systems, by direct nominations and advertising on Rightmove. We also manage the Mutual Exchange and Tenancy Changes. No two days are ever the same and there is lots of variety within the roles in our Team.

We have created this exciting opportunity for the right person to join as Team Leader. You will provide management to colleagues within the teams and support the work of the Lettings Manager.

As Letting Assistant, some of your key duties and responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Providing a comprehensive administration function to the team to assist with managing the advertising and allocations functions of a large number of general needs, market rent and care & support properties across the East Midlands area.
  • Being the first point of contact for customers looking for support and advice.
  • Supporting the team with our property vacancies from collating rent and property details for accurate advertising to producing sign up packs ready for the Community and Your Home Coordinators to complete the sign up.
  • Taking tenancy terminations and following our processes for ending tenancies in a timely manner.
  • A large part of the role will be spent entering CORE logs onto the CORE data system. You will be working closely with our Community and Allocations Coordinators and the other Lettings Assistants.

What we require

Our ideal candidate will have experience of working in a public facing role so will be able to demonstrate the ability to speak to clients and customers in a professional manner on the phone and face to face. You will be well organised and comfortable working as part of a team as well as on your own. You will have IT proficiency, particularly in Excel, Word and Outlook and will need to be willing to learn how to advertise our properties on Rightmove and several Local Authority Choice Based systems. Above all, you will be enthusiastic and positive about learning all about our lettings processes.

We have flexible working but our office hours are 8.30 - 4.30 with an hour for lunch, Monday to Friday. You would work at least 3 days a week from one of our regional offices, Mountsorrel, Edwinstowe or Clifton in Nottingham. We also operate an agile working system. You will receive a laptop and will be able to work from home for 2 days a week if you wish. If you prefer being in the office, working alongside your colleagues everyday then this is fine too.
