The Role:

The company are looking for someone to join them part-time, playing a key role in financial operations. You'll oversee financial reporting, guide strategic decisions, and ensure financial processes are robust and compliant.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to keep the company on track.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop and manage annual budgets with accurate forecasting and variance analysis.
  • Financial Analysis: Identify trends, risks, and opportunities to support strategic goals.
  • Financial Controls: Implement strong controls to protect assets and ensure compliance.
  • Tax Compliance: Stay on top of VAT, corporation tax, and payroll taxes to keep the company fully compliant.
  • Treasury Management: Optimise cash flow and working capital.
  • Financial Systems: Oversee the maintenance and improvement of financial systems and software.

What They're Looking For:

  • Essential:
    • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
    • Proven experience in finance management, ideally within a contracting business.
    • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in financial software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero).
    • In-depth understanding of UK financial regulations and tax laws.
  • Desirable:
    • ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent professional qualification.
    • Experience in start-ups or small businesses.
    • Comfort working remotely or in a flexible setting.
