Xealthcare are currently recruiting for a senior care assistant to join our clients wonderful nursing home on a permanent, full-time contract to cover day shifts. Located around 7 miles from Mansfield city centre.
Our clients modern and friendly medium sized nursing home provides personal care of the highest possible quality for both short-term and long-term residential care for elderly residents and those living with dementia. This care home has an overall ‘GOOD’ rating by CQC.
Position: Senior Care Assistant
As a senior care assistant, you will be responsible for leading and supervising a team of healthcare assistants to ensure the provision of high-quality care and assistance to our clients' residents. In addition to the responsibilities of a care assistant, you will oversee the daily operations of the care team, coordinate care plans, and act as a point of contact for the residents and their families. This is an excellent opportunity to demonstrate your leadership skills and make a positive impact on the well-being of our clients' residents.
This role would also be ideal for an experienced and motivated care assistant who is eager to take the step into a senior care assistant position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading and supervising a team of healthcare assistants.
- Assisting residents with personal care, including bathing, dressing, and toileting.
- Administering medication in accordance with the prescribed guidelines.
- Supporting residents with daily activities, such as meal preparation, eating, and mobility.
- Monitoring and recording residents' vital signs and reporting any changes to the nursing staff.
- Providing emotional support and companionship to residents.
- Maintaining a clean and safe environment for residents.
- Collaborating effectively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic care.
Requirements:
- Minimum of NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care required, candidates who are working towards this are also encouraged to apply.
- Prior experience in a care setting or similar role is preferred.
- Compassionate and empathetic nature with a genuine interest in the well-being of elderly individuals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership abilities and the ability to work effectively within a team and independently.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Respect for privacy, dignity, and confidentiality.
