Mechanical Maintenance Engineer


Location:Mansfield, Nottinghamshire
Basic Salary:£36,271 per annum

Overtime available(OTE £40,000+)


Reporting to:Engineering Manager


Shifts:Days, Full time - Permanent Position

This exciting role for an Mechanical Maintenance Engineer will need to be competent in working with a minimum amount of supervision, and able to self-manage their workload as well as working alongside an engineering team. Capable of working from a plan covering planned, preventative, and predictive maintenance across all disciplines.


Responsibilities for the Mechanical Maintenance Engineering role:


Reporting to the Engineering Team Leader, the Engineering Maintenance Engineer will have a strong sense of safety awareness and be able to demonstrate an understanding of mechanical drive systems, pressure vessels, pneumatic controls, heat exchange units and utility distribution, lubrication methods and materials along with fluid sealing methods and pipe fitting.


  • Mig/MMA Welding
  • Working on various machines - Centre Lathes, Milling machines, Bending press, band saws and Pillar Drills.
  • Routine planned and preventive Maintenance.
  • Fault Finding & Diagnostics.
  • Completing basic reports.
  • Use power and hand tools to perform a variety of tasks including machine repair and mechanical maintenance.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • HNC/HND or NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering
  • Production and/or Manufacturing background.
  • Experience working with PLCs, Variable Speed drives, compressors, boilers, water treatment plants, and fire sprinkler systems would be an advantage.
  • Proven Mechanical Engineering Background
