Reporting to the Managing Director, the main duties of the position is to manage the efficient, high quality and cost-effective performance of customer products, alongside shipping and distribution activities to provide customers with a competitive, reliable, high-quality fast turnaround service.
Specific responsibilities involved:
- To achieve optimum level of customer service in production and delivery
- To plan, schedule and ensure optimum work-flow, working alongside the production planner & customer service team
- To optimise the usage of resources including plant, materials and labour
- To ensure that the operations are carried out within budgeted costs
- To ensure equipment availability for in time planned preventative maintenance
- To ensure health, welfare and safety of the workforce in all operations areas and activities
- To ensure that safe systems of work are implemented in accordance with health and safety and environmental regulations and that Company Policy is adhered to, in conjunction with the Health, Safety & Environmental coordinator
- To co-ordinate team development and further promote the culture of continuous improvement
- To achieve class leading service through maintaining high efficiencies in the production and delivery
- Assist the Managing Director in executing the company business strategy including technology improvements, e.g. installation of new equipment, upgrades, site restructuring & energy / utilities saving initiatives to comply with current and future ESG targets.
