Elevation Recruitments Design & Project division are looking for a Product Design & Development Engineer to drive the design, development, and launch of a market leading product range within special purpose equipment / building products. In this role, you’ll collaborate with engineering, sales, and technical teams to ensure new products meet customer needs and industry standards. You'll also support cost-saving initiatives, product lifecycle management, and contribute to the company’s overall growth.The product design engineer vacancy will provide an excellent platform to further develop a strong technical career utilising various skillset and collaborating with a range of leadership positions. 

Product Design Engineer Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and refine new products, aligning with customer requirements and market trends.
  • Work with engineering teams to define product specifications, testing criteria, and validation processes.
  • Oversee new product introduction (NPI), including prototype development, testing, and production scaling.
  • Support cost-reduction efforts by improving efficiency in supply chain and manufacturing.
  • Engage with sales teams and customers to provide technical insights and engineering support.
  • Maintain up-to-date product documentation, including drawings, specifications, and test reports.
  • Evaluate materials, components, and manufacturing methods to enhance product quality.
  • Assist in streamlining the product portfolio to optimize inventory and reduce SKU complexity.
  • Provide engineering expertise to marketing and sales teams for accurate product messaging.
  • Stay informed about industry regulations and standards to ensure compliance.
Product Design Engineer desirable experience:
  • Experience in product development, engineering, or design within a manufacturing setting.
  • Familiarity with building products, electrical products, and/or similar would be desireable
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Solid understanding of engineering drawings, material properties, and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to interpret and apply technical standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong communication skills to engage with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) tools or project tracking software.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for supplier visits, product testing, or customer meetings if required
