This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a well-established company specialising in the manufacturing of aerospace and cast components, ensuring that products meet the highest quality and industry standards.
The Role
As a Quality Inspector, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that all components manufactured meet customer specifications and industry regulations before they leave the production line. You will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections, identifying non-conformities, and ensuring continuous improvement in product quality.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Performing detailed quality inspections on aerospace and casted components, ensuring compliance with strict industry standards.
- Using a variety of precision measuring equipment, including CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machines), verniers, micrometres, and gauges to check dimensions and tolerances.
- Reading and interpreting technical engineering drawings, identifying any discrepancies, and ensuring all products meet required specifications.
- Documenting inspection results accurately and maintaining detailed records for compliance and traceability.
- Working closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to highlight and resolve any quality issues.
- Conducting root cause analysis and recommending corrective and preventive actions to reduce defects and improve quality processes.
- Ensuring compliance with quality standards such as AS9100 and ISO 9001.
- Adhering to health and safety regulations at all times within the workplace.
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate:
- Previous experience working as a Quality Inspector in a manufacturing environment, ideally within the aerospace, castings or highly regulated industry.
- Strong knowledge of quality standards and inspection techniques relevant to precision-engineered components.
- The ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications with high attention to detail.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise with internal teams and report on quality findings effectively.
