Senior Procurement Business Partner / Team Leader - Fixed term ContractMansfield / Hybridc£46,125.00 - £51,250.00

We are looking for an experienced senior procurement professional to join our wonderful client in the Mansfield area and as act as Procurement Expert and Advisor for the business. Initially on a fixed term basis with a permanent opportunity.

Importantly, you will be able to lead a small procurement team and help the department to continuously improve.

The role of Senior Procurement Business Partner will involve:

  • Lead on the strategic "transforming strategy" for Procurement delivering increased benefits by working with the business, suppliers and other stakeholders to bring about improved value creation through influencing strategy.
  • Support the business to integrate best commercial practice into their processes and ways of working to support continuous improvement.
  • Coach and mentor Procurement Business Partners to implement the procurement strategy to drive the business improvements and support corporate goals.
  • Manage and oversee workloads of Procurement Business Partners to ensure visibility of workload pressures and to highlight resource issues.
  • Act as a deputy to the Head of Procurement and assist in development the procurement strategy and formulating new policies and procedures aligned to business needs. Ensure all policies are reviewed and up to date.
  • Deliver training to the business on policies and procedures to embed good practice, develop knowledge and manage risks in alignment with organisational appetite.
  • Review departments training needs to ensure training plans are aligned to business needs and staff development.
  • Act as Procurement Expert located within the business
  • Lead multi-discipline teams to deliver effective contracts and to design new commercial arrangements taking into consideration business requirements and risks.
  • Responsible for managing the negotiation, planning and placing of contracts

The ideal candidate for the role of Senior Procurement Business partner will have:

  • Professionally qualified in Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS)
  • Procurement / buying experience and Contract Management
  • A track record of developing infrastructure procurement strategies and implementation through delivery of procurement procedures.
  • Experience in managing and leading a team
  • Experience of managing and prioritising multiple procurement projects
  • Experience and knowledge of Procurement best practice and procedures
  • Knowledge of UK and EU legislation
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills
  • Ideally experienced within public sector / local government procurement or contract management
