The Client

A reputable property development firm specializing in residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects. They are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join their team and manage projects across multiple locations, including York and Rotherham.



The Role

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will manage the commercial aspects of projects valued between 2-10 million, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget. You will run your own projects, manage subcontractor tenders, and contribute to the design process. A background in Design and Build with experience in JCT contracts is essential, while NEC experience is desirable but not required.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage cost planning, procurement, and subcontractor management.
  • Take off building quantities and produce schedules of works.
  • Formulate and finalise subcontract tenders.
  • Manage commercial aspects of contracts, including valuations and final accounts.
  • Work closely with the project team, ensuring positive collaboration and timely problem resolution.


Key Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience with a main contractor, managing projects in the 2-10 million range.
  • Design and Build experience with JCT contracts.
  • Experience in running projects and managing subcontractors.
  • Experience in care homes or social housing is a plus.
