Learning Support Assistant – Positive Behaviour Support
  • Contract: Up to 35 hours per week, 38-week contract
  • Salary: £12.58 per hour
  • Location: Nottingham or Mansfield

Join a leading college in Nottinghamshire as a Learning Support Assistant, specialising in Positive Behaviour Support. This role is crucial in making a direct impact on learners with additional needs, collaborating closely with delivery staff to facilitate learner progression through the curriculum framework at either the Nottingham or Mansfield campus.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Provide tailored support to learners with additional needs, focusing on positive behaviour strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff to implement educational plans that cater to individual learner requirements.
  • Utilise specialised techniques, including NAPPI (Non-Abusive Psychological and Physical Intervention), to manage and support positive behaviour.
  • Monitor and record learner progress, adapting strategies as needed to maximise learner engagement and achievement.
  • Participate in training and development sessions to enhance personal skills and support capabilities.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • NAPPI Level 2 certification or equivalent, or willingness to achieve this qualification within an agreed timescale.
  • Proven experience working with individuals with additional needs, particularly aged 16 and above.
  • Minimum Level 2 qualification in Maths, English, and IT.
  • Enhanced DBS check will be required for successful applicants.
