Are you a compassionate and dedicated SEND Support Assistant? We are seeking a skilled individual to provide 1:1 support for a Year 2 pupil with specific needs, including cognitive delays, personal care requirements, and physical needs support. This rewarding role is based in a welcoming primary school environment, starting in November.

What We Need from You:

  • Experience working with children, particularly those with cognitive delays and additional needs.
  • Skills in providing personal care and supporting physical needs in an educational setting.
  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to working with children, ensuring they feel safe and valued.
  • Ability to collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to develop and implement tailored strategies that support the pupil's development.
  • A proactive attitude towards fostering independence and encouraging engagement in learning activities.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 2 pupil, focusing on their individual needs and learning goals. The pupils currently learning age is that of a year 1 pupil.
  • Assist with personal care tasks as required, ensuring the pupil's dignity and comfort.
  • Support the pupil in accessing the curriculum and participating in classroom activities.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENDCO to monitor progress and adapt strategies as needed.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
