ABC Teachers is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to work in a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Redditch on a full-time basis.

- As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing personalised assistance to students with special educational needs.
- Your primary responsibility is to offer tailored support to help students overcome challenges and achieve their full potential within the school environment
- Implementing individualised learning plans, promoting student engagement and independence, and maintaining regular communication with parents, careers and outside professionals.
- The role is on a full-time basis with the possibility to be ongoing for the right candidate.

- A secondary Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) offering schools, families and pupils a range of options to help make rapid progress, encourage re-engagement and allow change from within.
- The school caters to students with complex needs, including behavioural problems, mental health challenges and special education needs with the ultimate goal of providing a more supportive individualised environment that mainstream schools cannot offer in such cases.
- Smaller class sizes offering tailored support to help students re-engage with their education and eventually reintegrate into mainstream schooling, if possible.
- A supportive and flexible educational setting that aims to help students overcome personal or behavioural challenges and get back on track with their education.
About you:
To be considered for the Teaching Assistant position, you will:
- Have previous experience working with children and young people with a range of special educational needs, such as learning difficulties, autism, and sensory needs.
- Suitable qualifications such as Youth Work, Health and Social Care or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools are desired but not essential.
- Have strong communications skills with the ability to quickly build rapport with students
- Able to obtain suitable references and a DBS check.
