ABC Teachers is seeking an experienced Youth Worker to work in a secondary school that caters to students with Autism, Learning difficulties, and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs.
About the role:
- The Youth Worker will be supporting young people with Special educational needs on a one-to-one basis.
- Building a strong rapport with the students to encourage them to attend and thrive in school
- Following the guidance of the teacher but knowing the student well enough to deal with any conflicts
- Working 8:30 - 15:30 Monday to Friday

- Caters to students with moderate needs, learning difficulties and Social, emotional, and mental health needs, principally for pupils who are at risk of or have been permanently excluded from their mainstream school.
- The school is focused on providing targeted support to help young people navigate difficult emotions and behaviours that stem from vulnerability.
- By offering tailored options for schools, families, and students, the school aim to create an environment that encourages growth and re-engagement, while empowering the individuals involved to drive positive change.
- Easily accessible with parking and public transport links.
About you:
- A relevant Level 3 Qualification such as Children and Young People's Workforce, Sporting qualifications and more is desired but not required.
- Able to obtain suitable references and a valid DBS check*
- Experience working with children with challenging behaviours and backgrounds
- A non-judgmental and caring approach.
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are a suitable qualification for working with children and experience working with special education needs.
